As we continue to seek out new applications and uses for the ActionCam, we are constantly working on new, compact, mounting options for these unique activities. We just recently tested a new HelmetCam mount for the ActionCam. The results were quite good, and offer an interesting different perspective. The video can be seen here.
Note the ActionCam in the rearview mirror mounted to the side of the Helmet, it's not some big, bulky appendage hanging off the side of you head!
The user really needs to give a considerable amount of thought as to what will be the best mounting position for his or her activity. An example of the same mounting location for different activities, one being good and the other being bad is head or helmet mounting. Helmet mounting for an activity like racing yields good results due to the intense amount of concentration and focus required, which minimizes head movements while also absorbing some of the shock and vibration which might be present. On the other hand mounting the camera to the head of a jogger produces a video which is sure to give you motion sickness; this is due to the rapid head movments produced by sight seeing and the bouncing.
